Claims under diagnostic tests on Simply Health Cash Plan for £300 balance
The diagnostic limit on Simply Health Cash Plan is £450 per year and so the above means that you could have potentially up to a total of £1,450 to claim and it would cost you nothing at all.
How does the Claims Excess work?
This is where you are asked to pay the first part of any healthcare cost claim(s), for an insured benefit in your Healthcare Scheme, up to the total of £250 in any Scheme Year. Your Scheme Year runs from 1st April to 31st March annually.
It is important to understand that there is just the one Claims Excess per person covered, per scheme year. This means that if you have Family Cover, for example a Partner with 2 children, the first £250 of any specific Person’s claim made in a Scheme Year is payable by you for each individual covered.
Should a claim be for less than the Claims Excess, the remainder is carried forward during the year against any future claims that Scheme Year.
You can obtain reimbursement of your Claims Excess paid out by claiming on the Simply Health Cashplan (see below). This provides the Member and their Partner with a full 100% refund each (for the Healthcare Scheme’s full amount of £250 for each).
For any Children included, the Claims Excess cover limit with the Simply Health scheme above of £300 is shared between them.
To clarify, one Child claiming is covered in full, as the Healthcare Claims Excess is £250 for the year maximum. This results in the second Child – if claiming in the same Scheme Year as the first – would have £125 (or more, subject to the amount already used on the first Child claiming) remaining Claims Excess cover available towards any excess becoming due.
The Claims Excess applies to all Healthcare Scheme claims, including Out-Patient visits (e.g. for diagnostic consultations or tests), as well as both Day-Patient and In-Patient treatments. The Simply Health Scheme provides comprehensive reimbursement, regardless of the type of Healthcare Scheme claim.
