Your Homeprotect Healthcare Scheme has a claims excess of £100 per person, per year.
This means that for each member (including each of your Family you choose to cover), the first £100 annually is deducted when you first claim for medical costs in any Scheme Year.
The Scheme Year runs from 1 March to 28 February annually.
Please see page 19 onwards of the BUPA Employee Booklet for full details on making a claim.

It is important to stress that every claim (excluding the 3 above) must be pre-approved by BUPA. Therefore, you must first call the Claims line below and go through the situation, whether your own GP is referring you or you are self-referring, where permitted.

It should always be remembered that no private healthcare plan covers chronic conditions, or conditions with no known cures as a rule.
However, your Healthcare Scheme does cover for the acute flair up of any historical condition, to bring you back to the ‘normal state’. Such treatment should not be confused with routine regular treatments anyone might be having (e.g. prescriptions for asthma) – as that would be defined as an ongoing “chronic” condition.
