Secure the lifestyle you deserve
Protecting, growing, and managing your wealth is a cornerstone of financial wellbeing. Whether your aim is to invest for future goals, generate income, or preserve your capital, a tailored investment strategy is key.
We believe that true wealth management involves far more than simply picking investments. It is about creating a coherent plan that integrates your lifestyle, your goals, and your personal values.
By taking a structured and long-term approach, we help you make informed investment decisions that support your financial objectives and adapt as your circumstances evolve.
How we work with you – our Investment Management Approach
Our process is centred around you. Your values, goals, time horizon, and comfort with risk are at the core of every recommendation. Our wealth and investment planning service can include:
- A full review of your current holdings and asset allocation
- Advice on structuring portfolios across pensions, Individual Savings Accounts (ISAs), General Investment Accounts (GIAs), EIS and VCTs (where applicable), and more
- Strategies to manage investment risk while pursuing long-term returns
- Tax-efficient investing tailored to your personal circumstances
- Ongoing portfolio monitoring and rebalancing as needed
We design your investment strategy to be fully aligned with your goals, cashflow needs, and wider financial plan.
We begin with an introductory meeting to understand who you are, what you would like to achieve, and how you feel about investment risk. From there, we construct a personalised strategy tailored to your life and ambitions.
This is not a one-off exercise. As life changes, so too must your investment plan. We provide ongoing reviews and oversight to help keep your strategy aligned with your evolving needs and priorities.
The Patterson-Mills Investment Management Approach (IMA) is truly distinct in itself and is an approach that is:
- Clearly defined – looking at your own individual circumstances and objectives
- Measurable – against key recognised benchmarks, chosen to match your objectives and level of risk
- Consistent – monitored and managed within parameters agreed at outset, regularly reviewed and amended as circumstances and your objectives change over time
This ensures you always remain in control and, when combined with the latest technology and 24x7x365 online access to all your investments and our reports, we firmly believe that you will love our Service.

A long-term approach to growing your wealth
Successful investment is not about speculation or reacting to short-term market movements. It is about having a clear strategy, staying the course, and adapting sensibly over time.
We use a wide variety of investment vehicles and structures to help you pursue your goals while managing risk and cost.
The two core aspects we help you decide on are:
1. The investment vehicle
- pension funds – making full use of tax allowances and reliefs
- stocks and shares ISAs – tax-free growth and income
- general investment accounts – often used for additional flexibility
- investment bonds – useful in certain tax planning strategies
The structure of your investments plays a large role in tax planning and liquidity. Choosing the right combination can help achieve both growth and access when needed.
2. The underlying assets
- fixed income securities such as gilts and corporate bonds
- property exposure through diversified investment funds
- equities across UK, US, and global markets
- alternative investments depending on suitability and need
Our fully personalised Patterson-Mills Financial Planning Report uses the ISO 22222 guidelines at its core. The financial planning process is defined in the internationally recognised standard created in 2005, ISO 22222.
This standard clearly defines the six steps of the financial planning process, as follows:
- Establish & define the Client and Financial Planner (Adviser) relationship (e.g. scope, costs and payment)
- Gathering of Client data and determining goals and expectations
- Analyse and evaluate Client’s financial status
- Development and provision to Client of the Financial Plan by the Adviser
- Implement the financial planning recommendations
- Monitor the plans in place by way of regular review and amendment as necessary to remain on course
We follow this process to ensure that your wealth is looked after in the most efficient way(s) possible.
